Alaska College Consulting Services
Specializing services for Anchorage, Mat-Su and Alaskan Statewide Families
What makes me a unique fit for Alaskans?
-
First and foremost, I am an Alaskan parent and educator so I understand the challenges Alaskan families face. With 26 years as an Anchorage School District educator, I bring an insider’s understanding of our education system, including course selection, specialized programs, GPA weighting, transcripts, and Alaska state graduation requirements. Because Alaska high schools vary widely in offerings and structure, I strategically guide students to select courses that meet state standards, align with target colleges nationwide, and position them competitively. I also help students capitalize on Alaska’s unique geographical diversity, ensuring their experiences and perspective meaningfully set them apart in the college admissions process.
-
Each student receives individualized guidance tailored to their academic background, goals, interests, and high school requirements. In addition, I use career assessments and personality profiling to understand each student’s strengths, learning style, and passions, allowing me to customize college lists, essays, and application strategies. My goal is to present a student’s strongest, most authentic application to colleges.
-
WUE helps Alaska students attend participating out-of-state universities at reduced tuition. I create strategic plans to maximize WUE and merit aid opportunities.
-
I help students identify merit-based scholarships, WUE opportunities, and other financial aid programs. Strategic course selection, extracurriculars, and strong applications increase their eligibility.
-
I use career assessments, college preference surveys, and personality profiling to match students’ strengths and interests with potential majors, programs, and career paths, ensuring their college choices align with long-term goals.
